Grout float

A Grout float is a tool that is used in the construction industry for spreading and smoothing grout into the gaps between tiles. This tool is essential to perform a clean and smooth finish when installing tiles.

In Interior Design, Grout float is used when working with tiles, as they come in different materials, colors, and sizes for walls, flooring, and shower areas. The importance of the grout float lies in the fact that, it allows the tiles to be evenly spaced, centered, and flush with the walls or floors by also leveling out any irregularities.

Most plasters are applied manually, and a grout float helps to achieve a smoother, more professional-looking finish when Plastering walls or ceilings. The float’s flexibility and shape enable the plaster to be uniformly distributed making the process easier and cleaner.

In Flooring installation, the Grout float is essential in fixing tiles or other kinds of flooring materials like vinyl, laminate or wood. While installing, the tiles are laid onto a base, layer by layer, with grout adding a finishing touch and covering the spaces. Grout Float is necessary for finishing this step, smoothing out the grout to ensure that there are no gaps or rough surfaces.
